Q: My computer cannot access the internet.
- Check that the network cable is firmly plugged into the network port on your computer, as well as in the wall.
- Go the the Network Settings in System Preferences by selecting Apple > System Preferences , and then clicking on the Network globe.

There should be a green circle next to the word Ethernet, and the word connected should be seen as well. If this circle is red or orange, please contact us.

Q: I cannot access my Gradebook in Power Teacher.
- Upon launching Gradebook after turning your computer on, it may take 2-3 minutes to launch. Please be patient and be sure to not open the application multiple times, as this will crash the Gradebook and potentially freeze your computer.
- If after 2-3 minutes it does not launch, click on the link underneath the Launch Gradebook button. This will test your computer to see if Java is installed and can run the application properly.
- If the following message says "Gradebook is ready to launch," try launching Gradebook again.
- If the following message says "Sorry, Java is not detected," check you browser preferences to determine if Java is disabled.
- From the browser menu bar, select Safari > Preferences.
- Click Security.
- In the Web Content section, select the Enable Java box.
- Close the window and restart Safari. Some versions may require a computer restart as well.
- Open PowerTeacher, and click Launch Gradebook.
- Firefox for Mac:
- From the browser menu bar, select Firefox > Preferences.
- Click Content.
- Select the Enable Java option.
- Close the window and restart Firefox. Some versions may require a computer restart as well.
- Open PowerTeacher, and click Launch Gradebook.

Q: I cannot access my email using Eudora or Apple Mail.
- Try logging in to your Webmail account at webmail.bergennet.net with your full email address (yourusername@dumontnj.org) and your password. If you are able to access your mail, then it is a configuration problem with Eudora or Apple Mail.
- To configure Eudora:
- From the menu bar, select Eudora > Preferences.
- Click Getting Started, and enter your username information according to the sample seen below:

- Click Checking mail, and confirm that the settings match the sample seen below:

- Click Sending mail, and verify the settings match the sample below:

- Click OK.
- Check your mail and if prompted, enter your password.
- To configure Mail:
- Open up Apple Mail (stamp icon in Dock).
- Enter your name, email address and password into the prompt and hit continue.
